National Vaccination Prevention Plan 2023–2025

The National Vaccination Prevention Plan (PNPV) 2023–2025 was approved by the State-Regions Conference on August 2, 2023.

This Plan serves as a key tool to protect both individuals and communities by ensuring equitable access to high-quality, effective, safe, and timely vaccines. One of the most significant innovations introduced in this edition is the creation of the Vaccination Schedule as a separate document, that can be easily updated according to future epidemiological scenarios, scientific evidence, and biomedical innovations such as the introduction of new vaccines.

To effectively address existing or potential health risks, the Plan reaffirms the One Health approach, which emphasizes a comprehensive and integrated view of the interconnections between the environment, animals, and human ecosystems.

Objectives

The objectives set out in the PNPV 2023–2025 include:

  • Maintaining polio-free status
  • Eliminating rubella and measles
  • Strengthening the prevention of cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases
