Il Centro Interuniversitario per la Ricerca sull’Influenza (CIRI) \u00e8 nato nel 1999<\/strong> da un\u2019idea del Prof. Pietro Crovari<\/strong>, Professore Ordinario di Igiene Generale ed Applicata presso l’Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Genova<\/strong>. Inizialmente il Centro coinvolgeva due Universit\u00e0: Genova (Istituto di Igiene) e Milano (Istituto di Virologia)<\/strong>, con l\u2019obiettivo principale di studiare l\u2019andamento settimanale clinico-epidemiologico dell\u2019influenza sul territorio nazionale per fornire un utile supporto al Servizio Sanitario Nazionale e Regionale.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Sorveglianza dell\u2019Influenza<\/strong> su scala nazionale fu avviata in forma sperimentale nella stagione 1999-2000<\/strong> grazie alla collaborazione dei due centri coordinatori nazionali [CIRI<\/strong> e Istituto Superiore di Sanit\u00e0 (ISS)<\/strong><\/a>] e con il supporto di una rete di medici di medicina generale e pediatri di libera scelta distribuita su tutto il territorio nazionale. Il sistema, denominato InfluNet<\/strong> <\/a>fu istituzionalizzato dalla Conferenza Stato Regioni del 28 settembre 2000 (atto 1031).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Negli anni altri Atenei italiani<\/strong> hanno aderito al Centro: Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Siena, Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Trieste e Universit\u00e0 del Salento.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Successivamente, al fine di riunire le molteplici attivit\u00e0 di ricerca sulle malattie virali, svolte dagli Atenei afferenti al Centro, il CIRI si \u00e8 evoluto in Centro Interuniversitario per l\u2019Influenza e le Altre Infezioni Virali (CIRI-IV)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nel 2006<\/strong>, la direzione<\/strong> del CIRI-IV venne assunta dal Prof. Roberto Gasparini <\/strong>e nel 2010, per ricomprendere le numerose attivit\u00e0 di ricerca rivolte alle principali malattie trasmissibili prevenibili tramite programmi di vaccinazione, il Centro modific\u00f2 ulteriormente la denominazione in Centro Interuniversitario per la Ricerca sull\u2019Influenza e le Altre Infezioni Trasmissibili (CIRI-IT).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nel 2018 <\/strong>\u00e8 stato eletto direttore il Prof. Giancarlo Icardi.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le diverse attivit\u00e0 del Centro sono state e sono caratterizzate da strette collaborazioni con Centri di Ricerca Internazionali e Nazionali.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
